“ I absolutely love Italian deli shops and I was so excited to come across Porta Via on Yelp. They have a wide variety of different subs depending on what you are craving for. As my first time here, I chose the classic Porta Via Italian Sub. The bread was absolute perfection! Honestly think the bread always makes it or breaks it when it comes to italian subs. It was perfectly soft and not hard and crunchy. The combination of mortadella, dry salami, rosemary ham, spicy capicola, and provolone complemented each other and the meat quality is fresh and lean cut. I definitely want to come back and try the different subs and some of their sides. The customer service is welcoming and quickly make your order. They have a few small tables to sit, but space is very limited. ”
“ Amazing Italian Deli in Pasadena! Their catering service is great as well. Best quality Italian products asa well. The owner's family comes from a small Sicilian village renowned for its recipes. ”
“ A hidden Italian gem. Amazing food options, lunch specials, coffees, and desserts. My favorite all the imported Italian goods like pastas, olive oils, baked goods etc! They have a customized salad bar which is really great but honestly can't go wrong with anything it's all fresh and quality. The ambiance takes you away the second you walk in. The outdoor patio is a really nice escape from the busy street. A must try! ”
“ This is a lovely little gem in Pasadena. It's not full service, but you can order to sit and eat inside or in the adorable outdoor space, or get food to take home. They also offer uncooked pastas and a variety of cheese, crackers, spreads, cookies, etc. All you need for a great picnic or dinner at home! My favorite thing here is the rustica panini, but I have enjoyed everything I have tried and the service has always been prompt and friendly. Give it a try! ”
“ A rare hidden gem near Huntington Health in Pasadena, the variety and taste for the selection here rivals any of the cafes and bodegas that I would often frequent in NYC, but with fresher ingredients (avocado, etc.) that are native to California. The salami and cheese sub is my personal favorite, and paired with one of their lovely cold pasta sides lends to likely one of the best bites you can have for LA's lunch scene. ”
“ I met my two walking buddies for lunch. Like me, they had driven by many times, seen the yellow bike and wondered how Porta Via was inside. It's a great place, and we all had sandwiches: Lamb dip, Italian and a Caprese panini. Prices were good for the quality and portion size. One friend got the sandwich and salad special. It was so much, she took the salad home. You order at the counter, pay at another counter and then they bring the food out to you. We sat in the patio and it was very relaxing, no one rushing us. Ther eare lots of great options for deli lovers to eat there or take out. ”
“ Came to Porta Via Italian specifically for the roasted leg of lamb sandwich and I wasn't disappointed. The lamb was pretty tender for being lamb. The baguette was fresh. I just wish it had some veggies for texture preferences but I digress. I always get their Torres (Spanish) chips on the side to pair with the sandwich so crunchy!!! Love the fact that's it's a deli market because I've bought some high quality cheeses and fresh handmade oils/dressings from the array of foods they sell. Highly recommend Porta Via in Pasadena for your prepared meals and European grocery needs!!! ”
“ I love coming here during lunchtime because they serve authentic Italian sandwich and their lunch combo is always worth it. Like typical Italian restaurant they also have like a mini section for you to buy made in Italy ingredients so you can make your own pasta dishes. The surf quite fast because it's like choose from the menu and it will call your name after paying. During lunchtime, there will be quite a long time to wait until your order is ready. There was one time where they misspell my name so I was not aware that my name has been called several times but it was not my name. There is a seating area in the back of the restaurant as well as parking lot. The vibe of this place is always welcoming at is very homey Italian. I wish they have done more with the decorations and interiors. ”
“ Service is good, they don't keep you waiting long. - Porta Via Italian Combo w/ Caesar salad 3/5 The half porta via Italian sub is mediocre. I wouldn't get it again. The Caesar salad is basic. Comes with a side of croutons (which are delicious). The dressing is good. I probably wouldn't get the combo again. - Pasta Salad 5/5 It's so yummy! It's sour and tangy but just perfectly so. There's a good balance of red onion, bell peppers, olives and pasta. Parking is free in the lot behind the store. ”
